July 18, 2018 Day
288
The days are brighter earlier and earlier. I awoke at 06:00 am thinking it had to be
around 09:00 am for it was so bright. I
made us breakfast out of toast, cheese and eggs which we ate on the coach. Then I did the dishes, vacuumed and filled up
all the water bottles since we were filling up the water tank again before we
leave. We then drove back to Eastern
Promenade in Portland, Maine to walk the trail along the water and explore the
city. Before out walk and as we left the
RV Jason noticed two hubcaps were missing and he believes someone stole them
for they are $100.00 each. People are
just horrible creatures with no dignity or respect!
In either case the walk was fun and enjoyable and we caught
lunch at a pub. The food was okay but
nothing remarkable. When we left
Portland we drove north along highway 1 to Reds Eats in Wiscasset, Maine. The drive was beautiful and every home was at
least two stories high. Reds Eats is
famous for their lobster rolls which contain two claws and a tail and voted the
Best of Maine 2018. Jason dropped me off
while he looked for parking and I stood in line at Reds Eats. I paid $43.00 for on lobster roll and fried sea scallops with fries and coleslaw. It was hands down one of the best meals I have had! I think it was worth every single penny for the lobster was overflowing out of the bun and the scallops melted in my mouth. YUMMMM!
We walked ont the docks for awhile after our heavenly meal before driving to a Walmart in Thomaston, Maine where we would spend the night for free. The temperature is 76 degrees or below so it feels so wonderful. Another splendid day!
