Day 305 August
4, 2018
I did not sleep well at all last night for the rain was so
loud on the roof of the camper and I had nightmares; the last one waking me up
for I was crying. Breakfast was a tad
different with a bagel, egg and cheese sandwich which was paired with a
different coffee for we both could not stand to drink the one we got at Trader
Joes. We left our camping spot a little
after 09:00 am and headed west to the UVM Morgan Horse Farm for their free
admission day.
We had no service the entire ride, but it was a beautiful
day. The drive was mostly enjoyed in a
mutual and peaceful silence as we watched the landscape roll on by. A little after 10:00 am we arrived after a
minor detour for apple maps wanted to take us on a covered bridge road we could
not fit under. When we did pull in the
guy’s direction us to park had us park at such an angle that later on Jason
went to move the camper to a new spot for the water had shut off.
With lawn chairs in had we sat down next to the outdoor
arena where we commenced to watching Morgan horses all day and learning how
versatile and intelligent they are. They
showed the stallions and the babies with mare which I think was a big hit. Morgan’s are such beautiful horses it was
amazing to see them move so elegantly.
Around 14:00 we called it quits and went down the road to do laundry and
fill up on our water.
With laundry complete we drove back the way we came after
grabbing food at A&Ws. Along the way
we found free camping in the Green Mountains National Forest again near Hancock
this time. After parking we walked
around and then played skip-bo before going to bed. It was completely quite out when we headed
to bed and as I laid there I heard not a cricket, frog or bird. The wind didn’t even cause any noise among
the trees.
