Day 317

Day 317                                                                                               August 16, 2018

My trip is over.  I have officially visited every state in the United States of America except for Alaska and Hawaii.  I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that it is over.  It seems like I have been on the road forever; yet, at the same time it feels as though I just began, and it shouldn’t be over.  Honestly, it is very sad and as of now I do not have the words for it.  In the meantime, I will only discuss today’s events.

Upon waking up we had breakfast and then spent the day cleaning the entire house and getting a room ready for one of Jason’s friends who is coming to stay with him for a night.  I will have to admit that we work well together and seem to understand where the other is at with things.  Later in the evening we got ready to go to dinner in Marietta, WV where Jason’s friend is having the reception dinner for his wedding.   Before leaving for dinner I went to check on my little camper and discovered that there was mold all over everything!  So now I have to deal with that when we get back.  The drive to Marietta was pretty boring and felt odd for I was now back in my vehicle which drives a lot more smoothly and quieter than the RV.

Day 316

Day 316                                                                                   August 15, 2018

Sigh.  Last night was the last night sleeping in the RV which was really upsetting just thinking about it.  Today is the last day on the road also and will be spent driving which already is no fun but then you add to it that the destination is only a house and it becomes so depressing.  Before leaving town, we had a decent breakfast at a Cracker Barrel and then spent around five hours in the RV driving.

The drive was boring, and I spent the majority of it thinking about the same things I did on the drive two days ago.  I only have Alaska and Hawaii left which I am excited about visiting and will need to plan.  There is also so much I need to catch up on such as: my blog, pictures, expense sheet, work and a lot of other small things.

For lunch we had subway while playing cards and pulled into Jason’s house sometime around 15:00.  While Jason went to talk with his family and get his dog I started emptying out the camper which would eventually take a couple days due to our procrastination.  I cleaned the refrigerator in his house for fruit flies had gone in there to die for some reason.  I started up laundry and for dinner we made stuffed mushroom and burgers.   While I was sleeping I almost fell out of the bed in the house for I had become use to the bed in the camper and laying up against the wall.

Day 315

Day 315                                                                                   August 14, 2018

Bed did not come immediately to us like we had planned; instead, we stayed up until about 01:00 am.  When I woke though I was not tired and after breakfast we headed over to Cedar Point amusement park.  It was as good thing that we arrived early, even though they didn’t open until 10:00, for at 09:00 am it was already busy.  I had already paid online for the both of us to get in so we did not have to worry about getting tickets when we arrived.

The entire day was hot and the majority of our time was spent waiting in line.  I find it fascinating that we will wait in line for 1 hour and 20 minutes for only a two-minute ride!  I really only enjoyed myself while I was on the rides; so maybe a total of 10-15 minutes out of the entire time we were there (09:00 – 18:00). The first ride we went on knocked the air right out of my lungs!  With a height of 420 feet, a drop of 400 feet and a speed of 120 mph it was insane!

Most of the morning I was feeling weak and tired from the heat and possibly the lack of food so we ate at Famous Dave’s before waiting in line some more.  I was irritated that although I paid $130.00 to get in we still had to pay to see the dinosaur attraction (which we didn’t) or to go to the water park.  Though it wasn’t a bad day I was ready to leave the crowds and the heat.  Oh! I also have chigger bites from a couple nights ago. UGH!  Once we got back to the camper we downed a bottle of water and then headed to the Walmart. At Walmart, we bought beer and another pizza.  I then showered, and we watched “Like Father” while drinking some delicious beers.
