October 29, 2017 Day 143
We both ended up sleeping in and missed the breakfast at the hotel so we grabbed an Uber to take us to a breakfast place a little ways from the hotel called Chace's Pancake Corral which our Uber driver said had the best pancakes in town. It was a very small place but was quite busy and we had a wait time of about thirty minutes so we went back outside to sit and wait. The day was a chilly fall day and sitting on the bench I was completely content and could not have been happier. After some time we headed back in to check on our wait time and waited the rest of it inside where it was warm.
Breakfast was delicious, though the coffee was mediocre, and we both finished all of our food and afterwards were completely stuffed. When we got back to the hotel we both decided a nap was in order and when we both woke back up he got me to go downstairs with him and workout. I have to say that I do not like working out in front of people and so I felt somewhat insecure but that quickly dissipated and I finished a Core de Force workout and then got on the treadmill alongside him.
Back up in the room we both got ready for dinner since it was already pretty late in the day. When we were both ready, which didn't take long at all, we walked downstairs and had a drink down at the bar until it was time to leave for the reservation he had made for us at Ivars. We both had two gin and tonics and snacked on some fried pickles as we talked away and before long we realized that we were probably going to be late for our reservation so we got going. When we pulled in there was some confusion as to where to enter but we found it and it was a really interesting place. There were native american things everywhere such as totem poles, canoes, orcas and fish art. Where we sat we could see out over the water at the city lights and I truly enjoyed it. I felt like I was on top of the world and did not want to come down from the high that I was on. I can not remember the last time I was treated to such a wonderful meal with wine and such great company. It was nice to be all dolled up having dinner with a great looking man who knows how to treat a woman right.
The food was absolutely spectacular and hands down one of the best meals I have had in a very long time. He ordered us a bottle of wine to have with our dinner and we had an appetizer of seared rare Ahi tuna with spicy sesame and red chili crust, seaweed salad, wasabi aioli and pickled ginger which was divine. For the main course, I ordered the Taste of the Northwest which contained wild Alaska sockeye salmon, Alaska halibut and northwest scallops in a lemon butter emulsion, Yukon gold roasted garlic mashed potatoes and squash. That meal was pure heaven and I ate all of it. We also tried each others plates and opted out of desert for we both were just at the perfect balance of being full.
Leaving the restaurant we took an Uber back to the hotel which was an interesting ride for like always Sal got the door for me and apparently that made the driver think that we were married so we were laughing about that and the whole conversation that took place was interesting to say the least. Once we finally made it back to the hotel we headed upstairs and watched some TV before we both decided to hit the sack.
